In the summer of 1982, a group of friends gathered at their usual ice cream parlor following services at Central United Methodist Church in Florence, SC. On this Sunday, they grieved over saying goodbye to a friend who had just moved to a faraway retirement community.

Our History
Facing the uncertainty of their own retirement years, but wanting to remain in the community they loved and called home, they realized the need for a place where they could maintain their independent lifestyle while gaining security and comfort for the future….

The Board of Trustees is responsible for governing and overseeing The Manor’s strategic direction, financial decisions and advancement initiatives. The board directs the operations of the community, working closely with the executive director.
